Team Building in CODE RED First Aid Meet 2019
On January 26, Troop 59 participated in CODE RED. CODE RED is a medically based competition where Scouts from different troops compete to see who is best at emergency first aid. This year’s team was led by Bradley Williams. The challenges that CODE RED was based around this year were Earthquakes, so we named our team the Shakers, and we had a flag that made noise when we shook it. Angel Island 2018—A True Adventure!
On the weekend of December 8th, Troop 59 went to Angel Island. Jack Williams was the SPL, and Chris Pontious was the ASPL We met in Tiburon early in the morning, then took the Angel Island Ferry to Angel Island. Once there, we hiked around the island to our campsite, then we set up camp and explored the old Angel Island Immigration Center, dubbed the Ellis Island of the West. Successful Shooting Sports Event
Today’s shooting sports outing was a total success. Although the temperature was quite bitter at the start, everyone really seemed to enjoy the event. First, we started with an hour-long service project moving brush down by the waterfront and then up at the Twins Cities campsite. Then we shot archery and 22’s at a variety of different targets such as paper targets, water bottles, cans, and fruit.
