Congratulations, Riggs!

Please join me in congratulating Troop 59’s newest Eagle Scout, Riggs McGrath.

Riggs joined the Troop in 2014 after bridging in from Pack 50. He has been a very active scout since then attending summer camps, hiking, backpacking and attending leadership trainings. Riggs has been the Troop's Chaplain's Aide for several years and has managed to stay involved in Scouting and Troop 59 even as he attends boarding school back East at Andover.

Riggs completed NYLT training and has been asked back to staff NYLT. He was invited to complete his Ordeal to join the Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s Honor Society. He has hiked over 200 miles and camped over 80 nights as a scout and has earned two 50-miler awards on backpacking trips to Philmont and Desolation Wilderness. He just left today to return to Philmont to volunteer with the OA Trail Crew and will likely earn his third 50-miler award during that service project and trek.

Riggs completed his Eagle Scout project last summer by cleaning out and refurbishing a shed at St. Anselm School and moving in equipment to create a Makerspace Lab.
