Troop 59 Welcomes Otis Guy and His Mountain Biking Expertise

The Troop was exceptionally fortunate tonight to have mountain biking pioneer, Otis Guy come and speak to the Scouts. Otis became the only person to race in Repack, (the first organized mountain bike race, winning once and posting the 3rd fastest time ever recorded), the first National Mountain Bike Championships in 1983 and the first World Mountain Bike Championships in 1990. He still rides today and now has a summer mountain bike camp for kids in Fairfax. What better way to keep the cycling flame alive!

As a follow up to this successful and informative meeting with Mr. Guy, we will have our annual mountain biking outing the last weekend of May (May 25-26).
