"Safety First" at Family Fiesta 2018

Family Fiesta is an annual family camping experience for Cub Scouts from the Marin Council. The theme of this year's Family Fiesta was “Safety First”. Over 100 Cub Scouts participated in programs facilitated by local Boy Scouts and Venturers on safety and first aid. Troop 59 was responsible giving a program on kitchen safety. It included a mock kitchen to demonstrate and have Cub Scouts practice kitchen safety and first aid, sanitation, using knives safely in the kitchen, child safety hazards and fire procedures. Our Troop's theme for kitchen safety was "Be IN-N-OUCH!” Scouts also cooked more than 120 hamburgers for the attending Cub Scouts.
